Meet the Managers
Sharon Welsh
I am Sharon Welsh and I am a qualified nurse. I have been the manager of Belmont Villa since 1996. I enjoy leading a dedicated team. Every work day is a different day. I pride myself on doing the best I can to help the residents and staff make the most of every day. I was born in Frome and I am the sister of Stephen Twohig. Both my mother and grandmother were nurses in Frome.
Melissa Twohig
My name is Melissa Twohig, I am the manager at Greenhill Grange. I previously was a care assistant at Greenhill Grange under the management of my grandmother Gill and took over from her when she decided to step down in 2013. I enjoy leading my team to provide the best care for our residents and working alongside my family to do this.
Stephen Twohig
I’m Stephen Twohig I have been the owner of Belmont Villa since 1997 when I took over from my parents. I have lived in Frome all of my life and always had a great interest in the local community, from sporting activities to serving as a retained firefighter for 24 years. I take an active role at Belmont Villa, I am based in the main office and have daily contact with residents, staff & visitors.
Our Training
Induction training for all staff is provided by a trained in-house experienced, qualified, senior staff. induction training covers 15 standards meeting the requirements of the care certificate.
Staff also benefit from a committed on going training program both in house and externally ensuring that all staff and practice is both research-based and current, meeting the care quality commission regulations.
The home actively encourages all Care Assistants to achieve the diploma in care as a minimum. 75% of our staff have or are working towards this. The team of long-serving professional Registered Nurses regularly attend internal and external study sessions as well as provide training and support for care staff. A number of RN’s are nominated link nurses to external nursing professionals such as infection control, palliative care, medication management etc.
